Below are pictures from the visit of a pan-African team of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) led by the AFRIMA president, Mike Dada, to Banjul, The Gambia in May 2016.
The team included artists, journalists and major players in the entertainment industry across Africa. Among them were Laolu Akins, Cordelia Okpei, Biodun Kupoluyi, Tosin Ajirire, Kemi Ashefon, Onyinye Umeh, Matlou Tsotsei, Angela Martins, Adekunle Gold, Stanley Enow, M’Vula, Stonebwoy and Ahmed Soultan.
The team first attended the Africa Union Congress where they sat on a panel that discussed the way forward for the music industry and the youth in Africa. The AFRIMA 2016 calendar was also unveiled before the team visited the Bakoteh Proper Lower Basic School in Banjul to donate materials as part of AFRIMA’s CSR. They were in turn entertained by the pupils of the school who presented songs and drama pieces in line with the occasion.
The team later visited the Gambian National Museum before returning back to their various countries…
